Big Apple Istanbul Hotel

We stayed there at the beginning of April 2026. The location is excellent and the rooms are a decent size, but sound carries badly and cleaning was poor. Our sheets weren’t changed and the room wasn’t cleaned at all during our four-day stay. We had to move the car three times around the neighborhood because there was no space outside the hotel, despite being told each day that a spot would be free by noon. Breakfast was okay, though some items were nearly gone, so you had to get there quickly. I later saw the hostel listed on Booking.com under a new name, Sophia apple. Booking.com also asked whether we had actually stayed, because the hotel claimed we never showed up. That’s a lie. It feels like they’re trying to collect only positive reviews and improve their rating. Be careful of these tricks. I don’t recommend the hotel.

The easygoing feel, cleanliness, and great location made for a terrific stay at the Big Apple Hostel. Enes was fantastic and went out of his way to help us with everything. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back.

It’s mid at best, and the bathroom stinks. The reception guy tried to charge us three times even though we’d already paid, and there were creepy guys in the hostel. It’s in a good spot for a very touristy area, but there’s nothing special about it and it feels kind of rancid. They offer you a 15% discount for leaving a good review, which is why it seems so highly rated.

The guys did give us some useful sightseeing advice, but the room was poor and not worth the price. I didn’t have a key for the shared room, so we kept it under the bin outside the room. The bathrooms smelled awful, and nights were very loud.
