Blue Marmara Suites

I spent six nights here and found the stay uncomfortable and disappointing. The room looked nothing like the online photos. It was filthy, with sticky drawers and dirt inside, and the toilet and sink stayed visibly dirty the whole time. During those six days, staff only changed the towels, which were old, worn, and full of holes. There were other problems too. The air conditioning didn’t work, the area was noisy, and the ceiling was very low, around two meters, which was uncomfortable for tall people. The bathroom light switch only worked if you knew how to open it up and fix it like an electrician. The main door didn’t shut properly and looked like it had been forced with a crowbar. There were more issues I can’t list here. It wasn’t worth the money, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

There’s a 24/7 reception, and it felt like a safe place. I’d recommend it for families with kids. At the Blue Marmara, my room was immaculate and well equipped, with a beautiful ocean view from the balcony. The staff were attentive and accommodating, and they always had complimentary coffee and tea ready. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to relax. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone after a quiet, luxurious break. I’m already looking forward to going back.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and there are plenty of restaurants and a laundry service nearby. It’s easy to walk to most of the major sights in the old city. I’m 70 and managed the hill people mention. The hotel is small and affordable, and stayed quiet despite its excellent location. The rooms are oversized for Istanbul, though they could use updating. There’s also an elevator and a shared kitchen. Ask for a room overlooking the Marmara Sea.

I stayed three weeks and got to try pretty much every kind of room. The first-floor room had no view but was cozy and comfortable, and I liked the tidy design with its low ceiling. The city-view room was clean and comfortable too. The sea-view room, which was usually booked, was really nice and had a good view. Ayvaz was helpful and trustworthy, so I’ll definitely come back. The location is good too. It’s about a five-minute walk to the tram, which is doable.
