Mehmed was so kind and helpful, and the rooms had plenty of space. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Cockroaches were the worst part of this stay, and there were many of them. I first spotted one on the second night and assumed it was a one-off, but by the third night there were large and small ones all over. I reported it the next morning. The receptionist said he would check, then told me that evening he hadn’t found anything. I had to show him a video of me killing cockroaches in the room to prove it. He said he’d move us the following day, but the new room had just as many. They were in the kitchen and even crawling in the bed. When I raised it again, he told us it was our last night and offered no alternative. He also said he thought I had brought the cockroaches in, because he found it strange that I’d reported them so late. Disgusting and completely unprofessional. I’ll never stay here again. The room and bed linen were dirty, and the equipment was old too.

Being right in the center made it easy to get around on foot, and the apartment itself was fine. But during my five days there, nobody cleaned the place or replaced the towels. There are three flights of stairs and no elevator, so getting luggage upstairs is hard.

The cats were lovely, so affectionate and happy to come up to you. The hotel is in the historic center of Sultanahmet or Fatih, with lots of nearby cafes, restaurants, and shops selling oriental sweets.
