Being close to the main attractions made it easy to explore the city, and I’d happily stay here again. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help, which made my stay wonderful.

We arrived around 1am, and Muhammed welcomed us warmly. He gave us water, showed us to our room and lent us a public transport card for the whole stay. He also explained the different parts of the city, what to see and how to get there by tram or metro. The other receptionists we met were kind and happy to answer questions too. Castillo Rojo Hotel was easy to find and well placed for visiting Istanbul. It was good value, with very friendly and helpful staff. I definitely recommend it.

The only real drawback was the poor soundproofing. We were on the ground floor, and it could get a bit noisy. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though very small, and the staff were amazing, kind and incredibly helpful. The train stop is about a 10 minute walk away, then the main sightseeing spots are another 2-3 minutes from there. We had a great stay overall.

I was really well looked after during my stay. Muhammad was especially attentive, talking me through what was worth seeing, what to avoid and how to spot fair prices. Even the daily plans and little local tips felt thoughtful, and everything went smoothly.

Mohammed at the front desk made things especially easy, helping with directions and changing our room when we wanted to extend our stay. The service was great. Our room was clean and spacious, with a lovely view over the cobbled courtyard. The breakfast was clean and healthy, and the coffee was especially good. It’s a charming area close to the main attractions, and there are lots of cats around. One in particular gives you pitiful looks while you eat your tasty breakfast. I only stayed a couple of days, but I’ve got nothing but positive things to say.
