Ci Plus Hotel

The place deserves no more than two stars, in my view. Nobody speaks English, and even putting four or five people together might only get you something out of them. The service and cleaning weren't up to standard. The bedding wasn't cleaned, there weren't enough towels, and the soap was so watery it was barely better than tap water. Toilets were left with pieces of poo, and dusty or unclean surfaces were easy to spot. There were two of us, but they gave us only two towels for face and bathroom and one for after bathing. We had to keep asking for toilet rolls, and each time they left just one roll for two people. Those little things make the difference between a four- or five-star hotel and a place like this, which feels fake and deserves only two stars. A friend booked one night for us, and we were supposed to extend through the hotel's website, which advertised £18 per night, or £126 for seven nights. When I asked about the booking, they said nobody had paid them anything and that booking through the website was cheaper, while paying them directly would cost more. I asked repeatedly whether anyone had paid, and they denied it, though my friend had already been charged €50. They lied about it. I said I could either book immediately on my phone or pay cash, and they agreed to charge the website rate if I paid cash. The total should have been $126, but they charged us $180. They took cash, so I suspect they don't record it in their books to avoid tax. This is one of the dodgy things they do. I'll take the matter to the authorities through my contacts in Istanbul if they don't call within 72 hours and refund the money my friend was charged for no reason. Be careful and get everything written down. Don't trust them. They didn't tell us about the swimming pool or other facilities upstairs, either. In any hotel, the first thing staff should do is explain the facilities and their hours, but here they play dumb to get away with things. As a blogger with 1.5 million followers around the world, I feel it's my duty to warn people like us. I'll make sure my company reviews them properly and tries to get their rating lowered from four stars to at least three or two, to see if that works.
