Cityloft 81 Hotel

The bedding had a stain, which made me question the cleanliness. My room itself was ordinary, but I couldn't sleep because of the noise. Doors kept slamming, people talked loudly, and beeping outside my door woke me several times overnight and early in the morning. It seemed to be beside the lift, stairs, or a staff area, and the soundproofing was very poor. I travel to Istanbul every month and have found many cleaner, quieter hotels for less. If I'd known this was the room I'd get, I would've booked somewhere else.

I'm staying here now, and it's been a poor experience. Breakfast runs from 7 to 10.30, but I arrived at 10.35 and they tried to charge me for it. The spa and gym are closed, and neither was mentioned when I booked. I've honestly never had an experience like this.

The rooms were already broken, which is concerning for a place rated four stars. I did like the hotel, but the worst part was having to walk through the lobby half naked because a staff member who didn't speak English didn't understand the word “taxi.” The cleaning and other staff don't know English, which is sad.

There's room for the hotel to improve. I found a loose electrical cable in the shower, and the staff aren't always well prepared. Even so, it was worth the money, and I'd book again.
