Costera Hotel

A simple no would have been enough. Instead, my mother was yelled at and called a liar repeatedly for nearly ten minutes after she asked to use the restroom. He did let us use it, but kept arguing. My father was waiting outside, while I was walking with my 70-year-old grandmother, who moves very slowly. Thinking the receptionist had allowed restroom use, I brought her inside too. When I tried to defend my mother, he rudely dismissed me and said he wasn't speaking to me. He screamed at three women, including an elderly woman, over a restroom request. We were humiliated in public. He was aggressive and disrespectful, made racist and degrading remarks, and wouldn't listen. There was no empathy, professionalism, or basic decency. This was one of the most upsetting, humiliating customer service experiences I've ever had, and it ruined what should have been a meaningful last day in Turkey. My family owns a restaurant in New York, and we'd never treat a guest this way, especially an older one. Arguing with three women over a bathroom isn't power, it's cruelty. We left shaken and deeply hurt. Completely unacceptable. I'm just glad I didn't stay there, and I wouldn't want friends, family, or even strangers to stay at this place.

The spa and wellness facilities were great, and breakfast was good. The service and hospitality were excellent at this place in the Sultanahmet quarter. For a better experience, I'd pick a room on the 4th floor with a view. Just keep in mind the minaret is close by, and the chanting starts at 6am.

The room was clean, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast had both sweet and savory choices. The hotel is in a great spot near the Blue Mosque, Sultanahmet Square, and Hagia Sophia Mosque, with a tram stop about 300 meters away. Recommended.

Breakfast came with a sea view, and the staff were friendly. It’s a quiet, warm place close to the historic center, with very good service. I’d recommend this hotel if you want to stay near the sights somewhere peaceful and cozy.
