Destinia Pera Suites

We stayed for 6 days and found the bed comfortable. The room had water, tea and a kettle. We'll certainly come back.

For what I paid, getting a room in Istanbul was a good deal. In this price range you might not even get a room with a window. It's no 5 star hotel, and the shower needs fixing, but for the price I can't really complain.

The location was excellent, and the price reflected it, but this place doesn't meet basic standards, let alone a 4-star rating. I've stayed in 2-star hotels that were cleaner and better maintained. The current rating is misleading, and I wish I'd checked the reviews before booking. Our trip was seriously affected by the stay. The shower was broken, and there was a strong sewage smell from the bathroom. We reported it several times, but the fixes were only temporary. There's no elevator, getting to the upper floors with luggage is difficult, and nobody helped with our bags. Street noise went on constantly and made it very hard to sleep.

I only stayed one night because my flight was the next morning, and I won't return or recommend it. Room 301 was on the 3rd floor, with no help carrying baggage, and it was so loud late into the night. The room was tiny, but that might have been manageable if it were clean. It was the dirtiest place I've ever seen: used shampoo bottles, an unbearable bathroom smell, dirty floor and table. The towels seemed so questionable that I used my own.
