Divan Residence at G Tower Apartment

The staff were kind, and the neighborhood was pleasant, with lots of cute cats around. People at the nearby grocery shop, restaurant, and pharmacy understood and spoke basic English. We’re staying for nearly a month and paid quite a lot, so it’s disappointing that the room is in such poor shape, from the shower to the kitchen. Cleaning is really bad, the windows are extremely dirty, and the shower leaks badly. I saw a similar review from two months ago, where the hotel said maintenance had been informed, but it doesn’t seem to have helped. Things are old and partly broken, and there’s no basic cooking supplies like oil, salt, or pepper. The spa is dirty and smells strongly of mold. I didn’t feel relaxed there, just disgusted.

We booked 14 nights and left after only an hour. Although we arrived at 4:30 PM, well after the 2:00 PM check-in time, our room still wasn't ready. The lobby was dirty, and the staff seemed not to care. The room had supposedly just been cleaned, but it was old and filthy enough that we couldn't sit on the furniture. There was mold all over the toilet, stains on the walls, and almost no kitchen supplies. We stood the whole time. When we asked for our money back, the employee was dismissive and rude. Hotels.com representatives got no response to their emails. After two weeks of back and forth, I found out Hotels.com can't make the hotel do anything and will keep listing it. I'd strongly recommend using a more reliable company.

The bathroom smelled of sewage, and after we moved rooms, the new shower leak had damaged the floor so badly it had caved in and turned black. Our fridge and freezer only had a working light, so all the meat and cheese we stored in there went bad and had to be thrown out. They wanted us to move again, but I refused. I was only four days out from surgery and still hadn't been able to rest. They repaired it and gave us three pears and three tangerines as compensation. Things were difficult from the start. The first room, 2420, had a door that looked like it had been kicked in. It was off its hinges and wouldn't close properly. After one night in hospital, I returned to people upstairs dragging furniture every 20 seconds until 6am for two nights, so I had to sleep on the couch. I asked for extra pillows because I need to sleep upright. Someone marked the request as done, but I had to chase it for hours. It's been one hassle after another. I wouldn't stay again, and I feel dismissed.

The spa was fantastic, and I also enjoyed the gym, pool, and saunas. The location was handy, with shops, a pharmacy, Starbucks, and a metro station right nearby. I really enjoyed the stay overall. The apartment was spacious and nice, though it clearly wasn't new. Cleanliness could have been better: the windows were very dirty and some details in the room had been missed. Opening the windows brought in a lot of noise, probably from a nearby factory or industrial area, so fresh air came with a racket. For the price and standard, I was surprised there was no smart TV. Most international satellite channels were blocked, leaving only two in English, which was disappointing.
