Dosso Dossi Hotels Golden Horn

The gym is spacious and has enough machines, and the hotel met my expectations overall. İlyas was especially kind and attentive throughout my stay. I had a pleasant time, though some things could be better: a few staff members weren’t very friendly, and there were language barriers at times. The sauna area, particularly the steam room, seemed to need more maintenance and cleaning. I also would have liked more meat options at breakfast.

The calm, cozy, homelike feeling is what I remember most about Dosso Dossi Golden Horn Hotel. Many rooms have scenic views of the Golden Horn, and the modern, spotless rooms are comfortable, with contemporary décor and subtle Ottoman touches. The generous breakfast includes fresh local produce, pastries, and hot dishes, served somewhere that suits a slow morning. There’s also a fitness area, restaurant, and shuttle options. Staff make a real difference here, greeting guests warmly and handling requests efficiently with genuine hospitality from check-in through departure. The location between Taksim and Sultanahmet makes it easy to reach landmarks including the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Istiklal Street, and Galata Tower. For leisure or business, it’s a convenient base in Istanbul’s cultural and historical heart. The hotel brings together a great location, comfort, and attentive service, and it feels natural to want to return.

The check-in went smoothly, but the night was awful. We only stayed one night and just wanted decent sleep. The air conditioner only heats in winter, so getting cool air meant leaving the window open. Nobody explained that at check-in, and I had to call reception more than five times. The receptionist sounded annoyed on the fifth call, which I can understand, but nothing got fixed. I went down to ask in person and only then learned how the aircon worked. Why couldn’t they have said that on the phone or when we arrived? We barely slept. The night shift team was terrible.

The breakfast was very good, the hotel was clean and fresh, and I felt comfortable in the room. The rooms were good, though the hotel didn’t quite match its photos. The shower could use some attention. Reception was the low point: both staff members were rude, not polite or welcoming, and showed no professionalism or respect. The man who helped with our luggage was kind and polite. The location isn’t the best, but the prices are good, and compared with other hotels I’ve stayed in, I think I’d come back.
