Elm Suite Hotel

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was shocking. I booked four nights and arrived around 20:00. At first glance, the room looked clean and was not bad. On the second night, though, I woke up uncomfortable, feeling something under the bedsheets, and my back and shoulder started itching. I found an insect sucking my blood. It turned out to be a BEDBUG. I told the receptionist right away, and he kindly moved me to another room. I also asked to speak with the hotel manager about what I’d found, but no one came. After talking with my lawyer, I’m going to take legal action. I hope the hotel is shut down for some period for inspection, although I don’t want to harm the employees who work there and earn a living.

The breakfast was fresh, varied, and nice. The rooms were cozy and clean, with all the amenities we needed, and the staff were willing to help with anything else we needed. They were polite and helpful throughout. It’s a really nice place in a perfect spot, close to public transport, markets, and restaurants.

The price is low and the hotel is relatively clean, with good service in general. They weren’t cooperative about a late checkout, though, even after I told them I had a fever.

The neighborhood was wonderfully quiet, and we could sleep as much as we wanted without hearing any noise. It felt family friendly, though we had a car, so I can’t speak to transportation. We stayed in a duplex with our two kids, who loved the indoor stairs. The furniture and space were great, the staff very friendly and helpful, and there’s free parking in front of the hotel and in the building opposite. Just ask the gentlemen at reception for help. Breakfast was simple, classic Turkish style, and good for a quick bite. The room could use more light, though I suppose people mostly use it to sleep. I was disappointed that the balcony looked out over neighboring rooftops. I knew it wasn’t a sea view, but had hoped for some kind of landscape instead. Overall, a great hotel.
