Ethnica Old City Hotel

The only things I appreciated were the central location, radiators we could turn on or off, and waitstaff who at least tried to be friendly. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend staying here. We were there at the very end of 2025, and the Google photos didn’t match reality at all. The hotel is extremely old. The bathroom was shockingly dirty, the toilet was broken, and the shower was both dirty and damaged. Mirrors and furniture were worn, dusty, old, and dirty. There was no soundproofing, so we could hear everything through the walls. People talked outside our door for half the night, and it sounded as though they were in our room. Thankfully, my children were exhausted and slept deeply. The window had no child safety protection, which really worried me. The filth and disgust are hard to put into words. To me, they reflect badly on the owner and everyone involved in the business.

It was cheap, but this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The reception area was untidy and smelled of cigarettes. The room was very old, with a broken lamp and curtains. The bathroom was so dirty that a normal person wouldn’t feel comfortable showering there, and the corridor had no smell at all. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The listing doesn’t reflect what you get. I never saw a cleaner during my stay. We ran out of toilet paper and had to wait two days for more. I hung the “I want my room to get cleaned” sign for both days, and nothing happened the first day. On the second, I told them I wouldn’t go into the room unless it was cleaned. They did a quick clean themselves, then I went in. Not recommended, I’d rent a house instead.

By far the dirtiest room and worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I asked staff several times to clean it, and although they said they would, they never did.
