The smell was terrible, and the place was filthy. Hallways reeked of chemicals, and even rooms on the upper floors showed mold and extremely poor hygiene. I dread to think what the lower floors were like. Rainwater leaked through the bathroom ceiling, and chemical sprays were used in the rooms while I was staying there. The breakfast buffet was disappointing. The food staff were unprofessional, unhygienic and unfriendly, making guests feel unwelcome. Given the filth, smell and awful hygiene, this hotel isn't worth staying at.

The location is the main draw at Grand Emir Hotel. It's a short walk to the Grand Bazaar and other major attractions, which is handy for sightseeing. The rooms were clean and had basic amenities like AC and free WiFi, but they felt smaller than I expected and the furnishings were dated. Breakfast was included, though the selection and quality could be better. Staff were generally helpful, but communication was sometimes difficult because of language barriers. If you're after a budget-friendly stay in a prime spot and can live with some limits in amenities and service, it's a decent option.

We had a lovely honeymoon here. The hotel is clean, close to the Grand Bazaar and well located around town. The staff were very friendly and made sure everything went well. Special thanks to the cleaning lady, the professional receptionists and the night auditor for helping make our stay perfect. Best hotel in town!

The historic heart of Istanbul is an easy place to stay from here, with stops for every kind of transport nearby. I really appreciated the hotel: rooms and shared areas were clean, breakfast was nice, and staff were friendly. Recommend it, and I'll definitely come back!
