Gunes Hotel Merter

The staff were the best part of our four-night stay in Istanbul with my son. The Gunes was cleaned daily, with rubbish taken out, towels changed, and clean white sheets. The hotel is on a quiet street and close to Essenler Otogar, which worked well for coach travel, but inside it was another story. The building is old and has no soundproofing, and loud guests made it hard to sleep. I missed sleep for two nights in a row. After I complained, the receptionists on duty on 4th September 2025, Mr ANIL and Mrs GIZEM, were courteous and quick to help. They moved us from the busier 2 floor to the 4 floor, where it was quieter, and we finally got a restful night. The staff were super throughout. Thanks for all your efforts!

A good place to stop overnight. The rooms were clean, with a large bed and tea, coffee, and a water kettle. Breakfast was generous and very good, and the staff were professional and polite. Downtown Istanbul is around 15-18 km away, and getting to the center took about 40 minutes by taxi in heavy traffic. Nice stay.

I’m staying here right now, and it’s been a wonderful experience. The staff made sure I had what I needed and really went out of their way to help. Thank you! 😍

The location worked well for me, with a shopping center within walking distance and Tram number 1 and a metro station nearby. The hotel met my expectations for a couple of days, and the staff were helpful and knew English. My room and bathroom were roomy, and the room was cleaned every day. The service was good, though I think the rooms could use some modernization for a 4 star hotel.
