Highway 34 Hotel

We booked a week ahead, but they turned us away, saying the rooms were full. They even mocked us and told us we’d better find another hotel, as if we’d shown up without a reservation.

This was my worst hotel stay in a long time. The photos Highway34 Suite Hotel shows on Agoda make the room look modern and clean, but what we found was dirty, with worn furniture and a terrible mattress. Its upholstery was torn and the stuffing stuck out, which felt unsanitary and unacceptable for a hotel. It seems like guests are being misled by attractive photos. You can find safer, much better places for the same price. I strongly recommend this hotel. I don’t understand why I can’t add photos, because if people could see them, no one would book!

We were on our way to Edirne and chose this place after reading the reviews, but it turned into a very bad experience. I don’t recommend it for families. When we entered the room, there was a strong smell of smoke and so much air freshener that the windows couldn’t be opened. It was suffocating. About five minutes later, someone knocked. He didn’t look like hotel staff and had a room card in his hand. When I asked who he was and whether he’d just arrived, he seemed taken aback. He said he’d come to check if the room was clean, then got confused. I called the lobby. The men acted as though the situation was normal, even though they didn’t know each other. Then I saw a woman, and while going somewhere else I realized this wasn’t a family hotel. I think bad things are going on there. I packed our things immediately and went downstairs with my wife. I told the attendant we wanted to check out and that they didn’t deserve to have us stay there. He didn’t respond at first, then asked what had happened, as if he didn’t understand. He returned our money and left. God forbid, what might have happened if we’d stayed in that room? I never recommend staying here with a family. It doesn’t feel convincing or friendly, and it’s clearly not a family hotel. I’ve stayed in many places around the world and pay attention to these things. I relied on the reviews when choosing this hotel, but after what happened, I wanted to share our very bad experience so others can make their own decision.
