Hotel Büyük Paris

The noise outside kept me from sleeping, and the air conditioning barely worked. Inside, the room was filthy: yellow sheets, a dirty shower, and towels that were dirty too. The cleaners only changed towels, entered without asking, and my things went missing. I felt they stole them. The doors wouldn't close, the bathroom door wouldn't even shut or lock, and the key card kept failing. Breakfast was disgusting and made me sick. Staff, especially reception, didn't know English. This is the worst hotel I've ever spent a night in.

There's plenty of food at the hotel, and what we tried was delicious. Around it, we found malls, restaurants, fast food places, and coffee shops. The location worked really well, and the rooms felt new and very clean, with comfortable beds. They replaced the sheets and towels every other day and topped up soap and shampoo when needed. A really nice hotel for the price.

Power and water kept cutting out, leaving us sitting in the dark. Food was better bought elsewhere because the breakfast was inedible. Our things went missing during the stay, so I couldn't trust the staff with the room. Even with the Do Not Disturb sign up, they still went in. The floors never seemed to get cleaned, and there was hair everywhere.

The location was decent, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and reception was okay and helped me. Breakfast was also okay, with a range of foods, though it was crowded even in low season. The room itself disappointed me: it was damp, the walls were damaged, and the pillows and blankets didn't look clean. Walls between rooms are very thin, so noise from neighbors was annoying. There seem to be about 15 rooms on each floor. I don't know how hotels get their stars, but this one left me unimpressed.
