For a very low-cost stay in central Istanbul, Hamam Hostel 1469 is a good basic place to sleep. My private room was tiny and cost €12 per night. It's about 5 minutes from the T5 tram and roughly 10 minutes from the M2 metro. The front desk is open 24/7, the owner is welcoming and friendly, and the free Wi-Fi works really well. The room has no outside window, only a small opening above the door, so you can hear everything outside. There's very little sound insulation and it isn't quiet. The bathroom and shower share one space, there's no mirror in the bathroom, and it could be cleaner. Next door is a traditional Turkish bath (hamam) affiliated with the hostel. For €15, it offers a sauna, massage and full Turkish bath experience. Good for budget travelers who want a central location and somewhere simple to sleep. I wouldn't recommend it if you want peace, comfort or a spacious room.

I liked having my own small room at a low price, and I could lock up my things before heading out to explore without worrying. The reception was friendly, and the place has a unique feel. It's only a few minutes' walk from the nearest subway station. This is a budget hostel, not a 5-star hotel, so keep that in mind when booking. Good location and low price for budget travelers.

For such a low price, the place would be perfect if there weren't bed bugs. I had over 10 bites, and a few marks are still there after 9 months. The building is old, but they could do pest control. The owner is very kind. Rooms and toilets are clean enough, and you can have a small room to yourself. The location is good, with Metro and LTR about 10 min away. There are liquor shops and restaurants around too.

The rooms are tiny, but they did the job perfectly. Everything was very clean, including the shared spaces, and the old architecture and friendly family atmosphere gave the place its own charm. The location was convenient and felt safe. I stayed four great nights with my 5 year-old son. The very low price was a big advantage, and it didn't take away from the experience. We called the owner boss :-) He was so friendly with my son, gave him sweets and played with him, and he kindly offered to do our laundry. Thanks, boss, for making our time in Istanbul so special!

The rooftop has everything you need for a BBQ and a cozy feel, all for a perfect price. This historic place is also ideally located for walking everywhere. Abdullah was very helpful and kind. I highly recommend trying a typical bath in the same place. It will add you hundred of years.
