I only stayed because it was cheap, and I needed somewhere affordable for 11 nights. The hostel staff were the nicest part, but the owner was the worst. He was often drunk, shouted at staff, and treated them terribly. Hearing him yell every night from the rooftop, with people on the second and third floors able to hear it too, made me feel uneasy and unsafe. The rooftop was impossible to enjoy because he’d sit there at night drinking and shouting.

A good hostel option for tourists, backpackers, or anyone watching their budget. The rooms and service suit short stays and business travellers, with both dormitory beds and private deluxe rooms. You can meet people from different countries, or have a quiet place to work, relax on your own, sightsee, or walk around the Bosphorus area.

I had one of my best vacations at Harmony Hostel, right in the center of Istanbul. The owner, Nedim, is one of the best people I’ve ever met. I’m Ecuadorian and live in Switzerland, and I’m sure I’ll return. Greetings to Nedim!

It’s in a beautiful part of Istanbul, close to the tram, Marmaray metro station, and ferry terminal. Thanks to the Bangladeshi guy and the others from Zimbabwe for being so kind and welcoming.
