Matiat Hotel Istanbul

The night reception staff were rude and unprofessional, and I didn’t feel valued as a guest. Breakfast was poor quality and had very little choice. The AC in my room didn’t work for my whole stay, and when I complained, the staff rudely told me to open the window. On top of that, the lighting was so dim that it wasn’t comfortable to relax or work. I wouldn’t recommend Matiat Hotel.

Everything about the cleanliness and service fell well below basic expectations. Housekeeping only came once every three days, and the room itself was small and dirty. Breakfast was poor, with very few low-quality options. My stay at Matiat Hotel was terrible from beginning to end. If I could rate it below zero, I would. Definitely not recommended, save your money and book somewhere else.

We had to switch rooms a lot, and most of the AC units didn’t work properly. The so-called suite rooms were just one big room and a bathroom. Some beds had hair on them, and there were stains on towels tucked under the covers. In one suite, my dad shut the bathroom door and couldn’t open it again, so we had to call hotel service. There was also a lot of torn wallpaper.

I stayed five days and couldn’t get the room cleaned, even after asking the staff directly. The rooms were extremely dirty, and on my last day a big filthy cockroach walked across mine. Breakfast was awful too, with no variety at all, and the ingredients seemed old or tasted strange. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at.
