I barely slept during my four nights because of the noise, which is my main reason for probably not staying again. Every night there was loud music and construction outside my window until after midnight. The hotel doors were noisy too, with banging on the floor doors, and the corridor light came on whenever someone passed my room. The person next door was going back and forth to party, which kept waking me up. If you want a peaceful night before sightseeing, this place may not suit you. The hotel itself was nice, with spacious, clean, stylish rooms and bathrooms, a mini-bar, and two 500 ml bottles of water per guest each day since tap water isn't drinkable. There was also nice fruit on arrival. The managers and front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I appreciated the rooftop area and its bathroom when I arrived well before check-in. The pillows were lumpy, and we only got one each, which made sleeping difficult. At this price, I'd expect better pillows. Karakoy is a gentrifying neighborhood, and the street can look dodgy and dirty when your cab or airport transfer drops you off.

I wanted a small boutique hotel outside the old city, with easy public transport to Sultanahmet and other areas, and this fit perfectly. A tram stop and ferry are a short distance away, Galata Tower is about a 15-minute walk, and other historic sights are easy to reach on foot. The neighborhood has plenty of cute cafes for lunch and dinner. My deluxe room was huge, larger than my apartment back home, and the sea view was lovely. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony at night with a bottle of wine. There was quite a bit of construction nearby, though the noise didn't bother me. Worth mentioning if you're sensitive to it.

The room was spacious, with beautiful furnishings just like the pictures, and the terrace below had a stunning sunset view. Concierge staff were always there and helpful, and the free fruit and water each day were a nice touch. The foyer is small and doesn't look like the booking sites show. Also, the blue tiled restaurant in those photos is next door, so I'm not sure why the sites use those images.

We had a big, well-equipped room and didn't hear noise, even with the hotel's very central location. The design is beautiful, the service friendly, and the roof terrace is awesome. It was pricey, but a great place to begin our holiday, with Karakoy's hip bars and the old town around Galata nearby.

The included breakfast at Karaköy Lokantasi next door was one of my favorite breakfasts ever. We started each morning with cappuccinos, breads, homemade jams, yogurt, fresh fruit and vegetables, and eggs made to order, plus nuts, olives, cheeses, and fresh squeezed orange juice. I could eat it every day for the rest of my life. The staff treated us like good friends, going above and beyond with recommendations and help to experience the best of Istanbul. They were warm, personable, and helpful throughout. At Karaköy Rooms, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the rooms were gorgeous, clean, spacious, and well equipped with the amenities other reviews mentioned. The location was great, too. I can't recommend it highly enough.
