Keten Suites Taksim

The rooms are almost quiet, especially when the windows face the building's main yard, and the staff are reliable. You can leave your luggage unlocked in the hotel room. Room service is fine, with cleaning available on request each day. The kitchen amenities were the most interesting part for me: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, and microwave. They take a $100 deposit when you first arrive and return it at checkout, so eating in is easy. Breakfast is a routine, limited menu chosen by the chef each day: scrambled eggs, sausage, tea, omelet, several kinds of cheese, olives, and a good amount of bread. You can get more if you ask. It's a B&B hotel on one of the first alleys off Cumhuryiet Ave. The alley is steep and not suitable for adults, but it gives you pretty easy access to Taksim Sq. Among the pile of rubbish junk hotels around, this one really shines!

The mattress was especially bad, and the bed we slept in was very dirty and left me itchy all day. The towels smelled awful, and the old furniture made me itchy when I sat on it. Door handles were old and coming loose too. Bad, dirty hotel with rude staff and a filthy bed.

I spent a week here, and the calm made it a good place to rest after busy days visiting Istanbul. Breakfast was great, and the location is ideal, close to Taksim square, buses, and the metro. The team is wonderful and really dedicated, especially Nuh & Bahadir!! 🙏 My time in Istanbul was amazing thanks to them. Thanks again, I hope to see you soon! Ben

The breakfast isn't a buffet. They serve a short set menu, usually boiled eggs, honey, different cheeses, peanut butter, sometimes sausages, olives, bread, and probably the tomato-egg dish every day. It can be hard to get an omelet, another hot dish of your choice, or hot milk. The hotel is near Taksim, but the entrance is on a very steep, single lane street. When arriving or leaving by taxi, you have to hurry because drivers behind you don't patiently wait while you or your family get in. They don't bring water bottles every day, so you have to ask repeatedly, and there still may not be enough for everyone. Shampoo and shower gel aren't supplied regularly either, and there aren't enough towels for the number of guests. Wi-Fi was very slow, and despite several complaints, nothing improved. I don't recommend this hotel.
