The location was pretty good, about five minutes from the tram stop, and a few people were kind. The reception guys and one waitress in the restaurant were the exceptions. Muhammad at reception was especially helpful and kind, even with the language barrier. In the morning, though, you had to be the one to greet the staff first. I guess that may be cultural. For 60 Euro a night, I’ve had much better, and based on my experience this hotel wasn’t at the expected three-star level. The rooms are tiny, with low ceilings and no soundproofing at all. You hear the corridor, the neighboring room, and the street. The bathroom is practical but small and very badly refurbished. Cleanliness was average to good during our stay, with fresh towels each day. The closet is small, so keep most things in your cases. The restaurant is small and old-fashioned like the rest of the hotel, but it’s on the 7th floor and gives a 360° view of the city. Breakfast is the only meal offered. It has a varied menu, mostly Eastern dishes, served on plates at the tables rather than as a stainless self-service buffet. As we mostly eat French breakfast, there were few cake choices, scrambled and boiled eggs, and a coffee machine serving something that resembled coffee, milk, and latte. There’s also a juice dispenser, but I wouldn’t try the flavors. It wasn’t juice, just extremely sweet syrup. The small elevator was often busy or stuck on one of the floors. In brief, I don’t recommend staying here.

We feel at home here and have already stayed several times. The room was spotless every day, with great care taken over cleanliness and comfort. The staff were always smiling, friendly, and ready to help. Thanks for looking after us and giving us such a warm welcome. We’ll definitely be back.
