The rooms were spacious and cleaned very well each day, and we felt safe in the area. We arrived a little later than planned but received a warm welcome and felt looked after straight away. Ramon was a wonderful host, always answering our questions about hamam, restaurants, bars, tap water, and other things. Mates Historical Suites is in a great location, and we had a really good stay. I’d happily recommend it for a visit to Istanbul. :)

I was there at the end of December 2024 and found the location really convenient, with places of interest nearby. I spent most of my time out walking and only used the room at night. Sounds from around the hotel carry clearly, so that could bother some people. It didn’t bother me, especially for the relatively low room price. I felt I got my money’s worth.

The rooms were neat and clean, and the staff were kind and ready to help us with anything. My wife and I had a wonderful stay in this lovely part of Istanbul. From the hotel, it was easy to reach the city’s main tourist sights. We’d definitely stay here again.
