The location is convenient, the rooms are beautiful and clean, the beds are comfy, and there’s a gorgeous view and a Jazz bar. But it was the outstanding service that really set the hotel apart. Before we arrived, Mahmut sent restaurant and tour recommendations and booked what we asked for. When our flight was delayed and we lost a day, he helped reschedule what needed to be changed. His restaurant suggestions were within walking distance, which was very helpful. The restaurants, tours, dinner cruise, and hammam he recommended were all delightful. Furrkan and Eyup also went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. They sent me home with gift bars of soap, which my family loved, and heavenly-smelling detergent. We’ve stayed at hotels around the world, but the service at Orient Bank was the best I’ve experienced. Thanks to the team for making our visit so special!

The staff are what made Orientbank Hotel Istanbul unforgettable for our anniversary trip. We stayed from 10-14 March, and while the upgraded room wasn’t very large, it had plenty of charm and made us feel at home. A gentleman helped with our many bags, then Furkan checked us in while we sat in the lounge. He spoke excellent English and was exceptionally friendly, with thoughtful suggestions for restaurants and local spots. Staff members often joined in to share their favorite places, and the conversations felt more like chatting with friends. Everyone was approachable and attentive, and made an effort to remember and address us personally. Yana went above and beyond by calling The Bank Hotel Istanbul on our behalf after checkout to let them know we were arriving. It made the transition between hotels seamless. We’ve traveled a lot and stayed at many properties, including those under Marriott International, but this stay stood out. It’s the people here, not luxury alone, who make the hotel special. We’re grateful to Furkan (Reception), Furkan (Assistant Reception Manager), Rifat (Waiter, who made fresh ginger honey tea for my sore throat and wrote me this helpful name list), Enes (Bartender), Berkay (Waiter), Emre (Reception), Eyüp (DM), Samet (Bellboy), Yana (Reception, incredibly helpful and excellent at English), Summit, Amir (Breakfast Waiter), Selma (Housekeeping), and Bora (who helped with our luggage). The staff, from concierge and front desk to restaurant and housekeeping, were consistently attentive and made the stay memorable. Breakfast was another highlight, with a proper full Turkish spread of cheeses, olives, pastries, eggs, and more. There were American options too, but the Turkish breakfast alone was worth the stay. I was there just over a week at the start of a longer month in Istanbul, and the Orientbank understood what someone traveling long rather than fast needs. The location is excellent, with picture-perfect rooftop views, steps from the Spice Bazaar and walkable to Eminönü, the ferry docks, Topkapı, and the Grand Bazaar. You won’t need a taxi for the first few days.

After a day of touring, we loved ending the evening with a drink on the top-floor terrace overlooking the city at night. Staff were friendly and helpful with directions and dinner suggestions. We spent four days here before our cruise. It’s a beautiful historic hotel, and we could easily walk to all the major sites. Our junior suite was beautiful, with a large bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing and very generous.
