Park Inn by Radisson Istanbul Airport, Odayeri

For an overnight stay by the airport, it could work. The location is great for that, and the restaurant service is convenient, maybe open 24 hours. But it's expensive, and far from anywhere else. If you need to be near the airport, choose it. Otherwise, find somewhere closer to the city.

We were there for one night between flights, and the room was freezing because the heater didn't work. Nobody understood the problem or tried to move us until Khaled came on shift. He was on his own overnight, but put in a real effort and moved us to another room. My mother-in-law's room had a broken heater too, so it was still freezing there. The person with the luggage didn't know which room we were in and seemed lost. Food was okay, and the room was average.

A perfect stopover, about 15 minutes from the airport. There are two buildings, though the second has no reception and no access control at the main entrance or in the lift. Anyone could walk in and reach all the rooms if they wanted to.

Check-in took only a couple of minutes, and the taxi ride from the airport was just 15 minutes, so this was a great overnight stop between flights. The pillows were amazingly comfortable, and the bathroom had all the essentials, so I didn't need to unpack my cosmetics. That's a real plus for girls. Breakfast was simple but surprisingly tasty, which is pretty rare. I think I've found a welcoming place for layovers.
