Pera Rose Hotel & Spa - Special Category

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The price, 70-80 euros per day, felt far too high for what was offered. Breakfast was old and had little variety, and the dining room was so small that guests waited for a table while hotel employees sat there without seeming to care. The only edible thing was what the woman making pies prepared. The rooms had dated furniture, dirt and mold. The windows wouldn’t close, so outside noise came through. Room cards had to be re-registered 2-3 times a day. This was my worst accommodation experience in Turkey.

The hotel is near Istiklal cd., a busy main street, with restaurants and bars close by and good access to cultural sights in the city center. That makes it lively, so I wouldn’t suggest it for people who want a quiet place to sleep. The staff were friendly, helpful and happy to sort out problems. Special thanks to the receptionists Murat and Ruhullach. Our rooms were clean and nicely tidy. Breakfast was buffet style, with different options to choose from and combine as you like. Dinner was good, though not excellent. I don’t understand the bad reviews, they didn’t match my experience.

There was hardly room to move in the rooms, which were extremely small and uncomfortable. The food options were limited and unimpressive too. Definitely not worth the price.

We’d booked a larger, more expensive superior room four months ahead, but when we arrived they said none was available and sent us to another hotel. They offered neither an apology nor compensation.
