The neighborhood is decent if you want to see a more local side of Istanbul, with good, inexpensive restaurants full of locals, and Taksim’s large shopping street is a five-minute walk away. Breakfast was VERY GOOD, though it was served at another hotel. That’s the good part. The room for three was tiny, nowhere near the stated 40 m2. The ceiling was low, and at 182 cm tall I had to duck to get through the doorway. The Booking photos looked very different from the room we got, and I suspect they’re over 10 years old. There was no ventilation in the shower or WC, just a tiny spot to wash your hands. The shower door didn’t close well, leaving puddles, and its old, rusty lamp had no glass cover. The room seemed not to have been cleaned in a while: I found socks, brushes, and papers in corners. The carpet was old and dirty, and so were the beds. We were also without lights for 14 hours straight, from 22h until late noon. The air got really stuffy and it was hard to sleep. The mosquito net wasn’t fitted properly, so leaving the windows open wasn’t an option. Make your own conclusions!

The rooms are tiny, but really clean, and the staff are friendly. The location’s good too, about a five-minute walk to Istiklal, enough time to have a smoke before you get there. I’d stay again despite the small rooms. The price and the staff make up for it.

I cancelled my reservation four days ahead, which meant I qualified for a refund of the deposit. They charged €35 to my card and said it would be back within a few days, but it’s been two weeks and I still haven’t received it. Don’t make the same mistake.

We booked five double rooms for our tour group. The rooms had toiletries and were well equipped, and some were clean and tidy, though others had very dirty walls. The staff were friendly, even if their English wasn't very good, and let us leave our bags until the evening on checkout day. The rooms are so small that two people can barely move around.

Just a minute from famous İstiklal st., in a safe area close to the police station. It's affordable and clean, but the rooms feel too small for two people with two suitcases. Might work better for a solo traveller. They don't serve breakfast.
