Sanat Hostel Taksim

The staff were really kind, and the free breakfast on the terrace was incredible. The rooms weren't especially clean, but that was okay for me.

Toilets and showers were easy to find all over the place, which was really handy. Sanat Hostel was super clean and close to everything, and the staff were exceptional. Breakfast was amazing, especially with that wow of a view. I stayed 10 days and absolutely loved it. The price was very affordable too. One of the best places I've stayed in Istanbul!

I was amazed to hear the main building is over 300 years old. The top terrace has a unique design, and its view is rare and far-reaching. Excellent place.

The female-only room felt more like a flat than a hostel dorm, and it was probably the best hostel setup I've seen. It had three little round tables with two chairs each, space to dry clothes, a long mirror, three toilets, two showers, and several lockers. The open layout made it easy to chat and make friends with the other girls. Beds and sheets were comfortable, and the rooms were warm. Free breakfast was tasty, and there's an elevator, so check-in and check-out were easy. They also let me check in early. The owner was really sweet, and I often saw him at breakfast or in the lobby. The location is right in the club area, which is fun on Saturdays, though it gets pretty loud then. The rest of the week wasn't too bad. Background music doesn't bother me much, and I sleep with headphones, but light sleepers might struggle. A few things could be better: the shower doors are old and can be hard to close, and the floor squeaks, so a late-night bathroom trip might disturb light sleepers. The showers drain slowly and sometimes water leaks out under the door. The room wasn't the cleanest, though it was good enough for me. I wouldn't walk around barefoot.
