Watching the boat traffic in Istanbul over a sushi meal was a joy. The hotel felt magnificent and luxurious, and the staff were delightful and accommodating. Breakfast was magnificent, with Turkish local specialities to enjoy. The Experience Manager greeted us each day with real interest, and the Executive Chef made amazing lentil soup for us on request. If you’re lucky enough to go, enjoy every moment. A joy.

We can’t imagine staying anywhere else on our next trip to Istanbul. Shangri-La Bosphorus set a new standard for us, starting with a warm welcome from a professional team. Serkan shared some of his personal experience with Romania, which made the stay feel especially personal, and Dinei was always available and supportive, making sure we had what we needed. The concierge WhatsApp service was incredibly quick, answering requests within seconds and handling them with care. Reception made check-in seamless, the concierge offered thoughtful recommendations and prompt help, and the restaurant, bar and valet teams all brought genuine hospitality and attention to detail. It was an unforgettable stay.

During our three nights, repeated AC problems meant we had to change rooms several times. Technicians came more than once, including one visit that lasted until almost 2 a.m. yesterday, but the issue still wasn’t properly fixed. Each new room had the same problem. At one point, the room door was completely locked for hours and wouldn’t open, which was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. From check-in onward, the whole customer journey felt poorly managed. Most of our stay went to dealing with problems instead of feeling welcome and relaxed. It was a very disappointing experience, and not what I’d expect from a Shangri-La property or a brand meant to provide luxury hospitality and smooth customer care.

I’ll always remember this stay, especially celebrating my birthday and feeling welcome the whole time. The staff were so nice and made me feel like I was their only guest, from arrival to departure. Breakfast was simply delicious, and the chives and staff made it feel like they were there just for us. We upgraded to a room with a Bosphorus view, and it was magic. The hotel is near all the places you might want to visit. I strongly recommend it and would personally stay again. It’s one of my WOW places.

The food was spectacular, and the room was amazing. What really made the stay, though, was how attentive the staff were. They made us feel at home and looked after the little details throughout. Shangrila Bosphorus gave us one of our best experiences at a high-end hotel, and we’ll be back regularly. ❤️
