Sirma Sultan Hotel Istanbul

We arrived late in the evening to check in and were told our reservation had been canceled because Booking supposedly reported an invalid card on our profile. But we had free cancellation and payment at the hotel, so we couldn’t understand what the card had to do with it. The administrators insisted there were no rooms available and that we should have checked online to see what Booking had done. Emails from Booking showed that the hotel had sent them information about supposed problems and asked for the reservation to be canceled. We got the impression the hotel does this on purpose and rents rooms to other people for more money. They said we wouldn’t find anything in Istanbul and offered us a room at a friend’s hotel for the same price. It looked like a staff room. In the end, we walked a couple of meters and found a beautiful room for that price. I don’t recommend this hotel. They could leave you in the lurch without you even realizing it.

The room was comfortable and spacious, with a small terrace, and the view was great. It was on the 3rd floor, near attractions. They cleaned it every 2 days, which was okay. There’s a big breakfast choice, free fast wifi, and helpful staff. Good service for the price. Thank you Sultanahmet Endless Hotel.

The rooms could use general improvement, but the staff were nice and helpful. The hotel is very close to the main tourist attractions, and from the beginning they explained things to do in the city and gave us recommendations. Daily cleaning is available, which is nice.

The owners charged different rates to different cultures during my long month here. The place wasn’t clean, the roof leaked, and the food made me sick. I had digestive issues on 25 of the 31 days. Food left on customers’ plates, if it looked untouched, was reused the next day. They didn’t boil water or clean the coffee machine, and most guests got sick. They also rented out rooms from under people who had already paid and showed occupied rooms to potential guests. With Istanbul hotels full at the end of the season, this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
