Su Merdum Hotel

The boat ride itself was nice, but the people running it weren’t honest and seemed ready to overcharge us. On the phone they quoted TL400 for two hours. At the end, though, they said TL820: TL400 for the first 1.5 hours, another TL500 for an extra hour, and TL125 for two glasses of wine and two beers, supposedly after a special discount. We argued for about 20 minutes over the promised two hours, the two stops, and the drinks. They eventually brought it down to TL620, but still charged TL125 for drinks and TL100 for an hour we lost. We arrived an hour before the scheduled 2pm ride and said we’d eat next door and return. At 1:55pm the boat wasn’t ready. They cleaned it after we got there, and we didn’t leave until almost 2:50pm, costing us an hour of sightseeing planned for later. Soon after setting off, they stopped at the coast to buy cigarettes, so we waited around 10 minutes. We chose wine because we’d been told the price included drinks, but the wine was awful. Then we asked for a beer each. They’d drunk the beer themselves, so we had to stop again for 10-15 minutes to buy more. When we asked about the beers around 20 minutes later, they said they were preparing them. That’s when we saw a guy return to the boat with a few cans. About 1 hour and 15 minutes into the trip they asked if we wanted to continue farther north. We said yes, thinking we had another 45 minutes, but got back to the hotel after about 2.5 hours.
