Sunshine Taksim Suite

For a solo trip where you mainly need a comfortable place to sleep, this is good value. The room was clean and had what I needed, even if the building isn’t new or fancy. There’s no elevator, so ask for the first or second floor if possible. The area right around it isn’t scenic, but a busy nightlife and dining street is very close, just across the main 6 lane road a block away. The staff were extremely helpful with everything and then some. One of the guys was great for advice about the city and neighborhood. If you’re picky or high maintenance, this might not be the place for you.

Our room [4] came with a TV, kettle, washing machine, hair dryer, and electric stove. The staff were welcoming, and although there’s no lift, they can help carry luggage up or down if you ask. The hotel is a few minutes from Taksim Square, with the metro there and buses passing along the main road. It’s set back a little from Istiklal Street, in an area with local places serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner at more economical prices. Keep the hills in mind: walking from Taksim Square means a steep descent, and going back is uphill, which may be difficult if you have mobility limitations. [Jan 2026]

Ali was always available and helpful whenever we had a question or needed something. The hotel is handy for Taksim square and Istiklal St, with plenty of shops and restaurants around. Our small, cozy room had what we needed, including a kitchenette, washer, drying rack, safety box, and air conditioning. There’s no elevator, and getting to the rooms means climbing a steep, narrow staircase. We could hear street noise through the room, though it usually didn’t bother us.

We stayed at Sunshine Taksim Suite from 7th to 10th April with our 7 year old daughter, and the place was clean and tidy. The room was on the small side, but fair enough for what we paid. The building is old and there’s no elevator. We especially appreciated senior Ali and junior Ali, who were amazingly friendly and helpful. Taksim Square is a six-minute walk away and the bus stop is two minutes away. The price was very reasonable, and we had a very comfortable stay. I’d highly recommend it.
