T-Loft Residence

We left before the final day and booked another hotel, after the whole apartment went without water on the penultimate day. The host didn’t seem to care, and the price we paid felt completely unjustified. Even before that, the apartment was filthy, with dirty kitchen glasses, badly stained beds, and live insect larvae in the shower. The toilet seat was broken, the shower handle was missing, the bathroom faucet seemed broken, and electrical outlets were hanging out. When I politely asked for another key, the host was rude and only handed one over after a couple of grunts.

It’s a decent sized room in a building with a lift, about a 5 to 8 minute walk from Taksim Square. Keep in mind that the walk back up to Taksim is a bit uphill. There’s a late night restaurant opposite and a good enough grocery store nearby. The AC was below average and needs servicing, and the AC in the main hall didn’t work. The toilet flush buttons were missing their cover. I’d say this should cost around 60 to 70 dollars, no more.

Shops, supermarkets, and restaurants are close by, and you can find something open near the hotel at any hour. Taksim Square and Istiklal Street are very near too. We stayed eight days with our two kids at T Loft Residence, and it felt like home. Mr Mehmat was helpful the whole time. We had an awesome stay, and I’d definitely recommend this place.

T-Loft Residence is among the top three places I’ve stayed, and I travel quite a lot. On our first Istanbul trip, the owner and staff made our family feel what Turkish hospitality can be. The personal service stood out more than anything, though the room was modern, clean, and comfortable too. The location near Taksim Square put us close to public transport, shops, and restaurants, and the tourist attractions weren’t far. I’d recommend public transport over taxis. It felt like an oasis in Istanbul, and I want to return with my husband. A few examples of their care: there was a misunderstanding in our emails about arriving by bus, so the owner sent staff to the bus stop three times to check that we arrived safely. On our first day, a staff member came with us to Taksim Square and showed us where to go, much more than the directions or map I’d expected. On departure day, our flight was early and we’d miss buffet breakfast, so they brought food to our room at the time we requested. When we sent our breakfast choices the night before, the owner kept encouraging us to order more variety. For the rate, which included daily breakfast, the spread was amazing.
