Taximist Hotel

The breakfast room is on the small side, and there isn’t a huge selection, but it’s enough to get the day started: cheese, jam, bread, eggs, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and vegetables. The room was cleaned daily, decently, and the towels were replaced each day too. The receptionist was kind and respectful, and offered both early check-in and a free upgrade to a suite on the 8th floor. It was spacious, had a balcony and a panoramic city view, and was reached by stairs from the 7th floor. Although the street is lively, it stayed quiet at night, so I could sleep without nearby bars and restaurants disturbing me. It’s a 3-star boutique hotel about a five-minute walk from Taksim Square, with all kinds of shops and restaurants around. The room had the basics I needed, including shampoo, shower gel, slippers, a hair dryer, soap, kettle, complimentary coffee, tea and water, and AC that worked well. It was a pleasant budget stay in the heart of Istanbul, and I’d recommend it.

The location is ideal, just a short walk from Taksim Square, and our clean, comfortable family room on the 7th floor had a lovely view that the kids enjoyed. We had a great time and would gladly return. From the moment we arrived, a kind gentleman at the door welcomed us warmly. The staff were friendly, respectful, and helpful throughout, and the reception team were especially professional and attentive. I also thought breakfast was excellent. We’d read some mixed reviews, but found it tasty with plenty of variety, and the breakfast staff were lovely and welcoming.

On a cold winter vacation, who wants to sleep underground or on a rooftop you can’t reach by elevator? We were given a different room from the one we reserved, and it was far too small for a family. When we asked to change, they offered us either a basement room or one on the roof with no elevator access. After speaking with the staff, they said they’d refund us, so I found another hotel and booked a room there. Then they refused to return my money, even though the mistake was theirs from the start. They could have simply told us there was no room available. They were rude and unprofessional, and didn’t care about the customer’s opinion. It was the worst experience ever.

The location was really nice, and the room service was amazing. There were lots of breakfast options too. I’d highly recommend it for families and solo travelers.
