The Şişli Beijing Hotel

The room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, and it was dirty when we got there. We spent three nights in a standard room even though I’d booked an apartment. At check-in, receptionist Volcan didn’t mention the change, so I only found out after entering the room. When I asked about it, he said the apartment had a leak and promised we’d be moved the next day. He kept putting it off, though. When I asked again that afternoon, he got aggressive and said, “Hey woman, I told you the room is not available. If you don’t like it, cancel your reservation.” With only one night left, we decided to stay and asked for the difference in price between the apartment and standard room. He kept me waiting in the lobby for over 40 minutes, as if hoping I’d give up. Eventually he said the refund would go through the payment method and asked for my IBAN. It’s been a week and I still haven’t received anything.

The rooms are old and poorly maintained, and the night receptionist was rude and discriminatory. I had a very bad experience and don’t recommend this hotel at all.

Everyone was easygoing and really helpful. The hotel was amazing, but what stood out most was the guy at reception. Even when I needed help with something complicated, he found a way to sort it out.

Don’t book here. The rooms smell of cigarettes and the hotel seems to have no maintenance. Don’t let Booking.com fool you.
