Euroistanbul Hotel

The location was convenient and the 24-hour reception staff were welcoming, but the stay was awful if you need sleep or clean air. We booked a double room and it was so cramped that even walking around to the far side of the bed was difficult. There were only two closet hangers, one broken, loose wires coming out of the wall, and no room to spare. Noise was constant all weekend, Friday through Sunday, with loud music and cigarette smoke in the room until around 6 a.m. The hotel has no soundproofing, and it sits between two bars or nightclubs with live singers. We could hear both places, one more loudly in the main room and the other in the bathroom. The video we recorded at 3 a.m. captured the music at full blast. Gaps under the room doors also let through sounds from other guests. The shower looked unclean and had black mold. We asked a couple of times about changing rooms in case one became available, but the hotel was fully booked. Since we had paid ahead for a nonrefundable stay, we couldn’t leave. The location and helpful reception were good, but the facilities were poor. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who wants to sleep, needs fresh air because of asthma or allergies, or expects a clean shower.
