Vander Valk Istanbul Hotel

Mrs.Sharareh made my stay especially good with her amazing food, and I really liked the restaurant atmosphere. The service was one of the best things about the hotel. The staff were so kind, the rooms clean, and the location was amazing for finding historical places in Istanbul. I had a very good experience and recommend the hotel to anyone planning a stay in Istanbul. Best regards.

The staff were unfriendly during my stay. They didn't return greetings or smile, and didn't respond when I thanked them. The room also had a strong cigarette smell, especially around the bed and pillows. It stayed through all three nights despite airing the room out, and made sleeping uncomfortable. Cleanliness was well below expectations too: the bed cover and pillows were stained and yellowish, the pillow itself was dirty when I took off its case, and the spare pillow in the closet was even worse. The bathroom towels looked unclean and had visible color differences, so I used my own towel. On the second day I found a mouse in the bathroom. It was disgusting, and there seemed to be an opening there that hadn't been sealed properly. Breakfast was decent, though the sausages and eggs should be served hot, and the bread should be fresh rather than reused for several days. I won't stay here again and don't recommend it.

The staff made us feel well looked after, always warm and ready to help. Breakfast was fresh and enjoyable, and the rooftop/terrace was a lovely place to start the day. Vander Valk İstanbul Hotel is very central, with public transportation nearby, so getting to the city's main sights was easy. Our room was clean and comfortable, with nice attention to keeping everything tidy. It was excellent value for money, and I'd definitely stay again.
