Agora Park Hotel

The bathroom smelled so bad that opening the door left the odor in the rest of the room for hours. There was mold on the ceiling and door, and the cleaning and service were awful. The room was basically a tiny cabinet to squeeze people into for money. This place looked nothing like the pictures. It’s a sketchy hellhole, don’t stay here.

For a budget traveler like me, it was okay, and the location is very good if you don’t mind walking. There’s a very local soup place just around the corner for breakfast, and food nearby is well priced. My room was okay, the AC worked, and the WiFi sort of worked too. The shower had fine hot water, but smelled and didn’t have enough ventilation. Cigarette smell was everywhere, though the room itself was fairly okay. Not much English is spoken. There’s room for improvement.

If you don’t smoke, this place isn’t for you. Cigarette odor was extremely strong in the lobby, bedroom, and all over the sheets, curtains, pillows, and blanket. Lying down felt like someone was smoking right next to me. This is more of a lodge than a hotel, and not somewhere I’d bring a family.

Agora Park has good WiFi and a good location, but it’s extremely basic. I prefer Antikhan Hotel around the corner, with its breakfast and much larger lobby area. (October 2017)
