The owners were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, the location was close to everything, and it looked just like the pictures. We had an amazing stay at Inn City Alsancak. Highly recommended.

Mr. Hasan listened to all our requests and helped us, and the staff were very friendly. We stayed for three days in the center of Alsancak, in a safe spot with easy access around the area and just a 5-6 minute walk from Kordon. They let us into our room at 09:00 when we called, even though normal check-in was 12:00. Hot water and central heating worked very well, and having an electric stove and refrigerator in the room was a real plus. The room was generally clean, but there was hair under the sheets and dust beneath the bed, so you can ask for fresh sheets when you arrive. Bed hygiene could be better, and the heating setting on the air conditioning sometimes stopped blowing warm air. For a reasonable price, you get good value and amenities. I haven’t found another place at this price where you can cook your own meals, so I think it’s a very good accommodation choice.

We had to leave and find a hotel the next morning, which cost us extra. Staying in the apartment we were given was impossible, so we contacted Airbnb and received a refund. We hadn’t been told beforehand that water in Izmir is cut off from 23:00 to 06:00, and there was no tank or other solution. We couldn’t even use the toilet at night, so basic hygiene wasn’t possible. We arrived around 22:00 to check in, but they didn’t take us to the apartment we’d booked. Instead, they said they wanted to put us in a nicer place and directed us to another apartment. When I insisted on seeing the one we had reserved, they said it had flooded. We never got to see it. Before booking, I’d specifically asked about cleanliness and was told there had been no complaints, but what we found was the opposite. The place we were put in was in awful condition. There was mold on the pillows, hair on the bed and around the room, and dirt and mold around the broken shower. The bottom of the shower stall was open and full of dirt. Used cotton swabs were on the floor, food scraps were in the kitchen cupboards, and the surfaces hadn’t been cleaned. Some furniture was broken or damaged. We weren’t given the apartment we rented, the replacement was extremely dirty, and basic cleaning and maintenance standards weren’t met. The information we were given about cleanliness and the accommodation wasn’t truthful. I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through this.
