Hotel Apart Alsancak

The room was extremely hot, with no air conditioning, and the shower was broken and barely worked. There was absolutely no sound insulation. At breakfast, everything had already run out, with not even bread or a boiled egg left. The reception was very bad. We were threatened with being charged for another night if we checked out just five minutes late. Not recommended, and we won't repeat the experience.

The reception team made a real effort throughout our two nights at Riva Hotel. They were warm, polite, and quick to sort out the hot water when it stopped working. We were also given a room upgrade, though it didn’t change much for us: the sofa bed in the living room was very uncomfortable, and outside noise around 3, 4, and 5 AM kept us awake both nights. The central location is a big plus, but cleanliness was well below what we expected and needs attention. Riva Hotel has promise, especially because of its location and reception staff, though the rooms need better hygiene, comfort, and soundproofing.

We spent seven nights in room 303. The location made getting around easy, with the walking street, harbour, shops, restaurants, coffee spots, Alsancak tram stop, and train station all close by. Our room looked onto a side street, and the bed was comfortable. It was spacious, warm, and modern, with a useful desk and a large mirror TV screen. There was also a mini kitchen with cutlery, a small stove, kettle, and sink, plus water, tea, coffee, a safe, WiFi, and slippers. The bathroom had a roomy walk-in shower. The hotel felt neat and relaxed, with music playing in the background. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including boiled eggs, cheese, pies, olives, fruit, cereal, soup, sliced polony, and bread. The TV had only one English-language channel, TRT news. Any request we made was handled efficiently. The staff were a highlight: Nusret at reception was welcoming, Hulya, the housekeeping manager, was efficient, Tolga was hands-on and proactive, and Sebahat, Nur, and Ayse kept our room clean and were helpful.

Tolga bey, the Hotel Manager, did everything he could to make my stay pleasant. The staff were professional and attentive to guests, and the place was clean, neat, and classy. Thank you 🙂
