Yeşilyurt Pansiyon Hotel

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and breakfast was top notch. Staff were so kind and helped us sort out our problems, plus they kept treating us to delicious tea. The hotel is in a wonderful spot, with lots of shops, cafes and other places nearby. The subway is a five minute walk away.

Breakfast was lovely, and I was greeted by welcoming cats at the residence entrance. The rooms were neat and clean, and the service was excellent. They always handled requests and gave helpful advice, and it was useful that staff spoke English. The bus stop is 150 meters away and the metro is 850 meters away. You can get here by public transport, but the walk uphill from the metro is a little steep with luggage, so a taxi to the hotel might be easier.

We came through a Greek travel agency that had an agreement with this place, and the stay was pretty bad for what we paid and what was promised. We’d booked two deluxe rooms with city views, but neither matched the description. After complaining to the agency, they changed only one room. Daily cleaning was said to be included, but we had to ask for it, and the rooms didn’t even have spare keys. The rooms were poorly put together: when I opened one door, a plank nearly fell on my head because it had been glued on instead of built in. The sound insulation was awful, and we heard hospital sirens all day from the nearby neighborhood. At breakfast there was a piece each of ham, tomato and cucumber, an egg, butter, cheese, jam and chocolate, with lots of bread and tea. Breakfast was served in a place that was also the cats’ home. Only one woman spoke English, so we had to look for her whenever we needed something. To be fair, the staff were always willing to help when we asked, which is why I’m giving them the second star. I’d call this a hostel at best, not a hotel.

It's a bit far from the city center, but there are bus stops and a metro nearby, and for the money it’s worth staying here. The staff will help with whatever you need, though they don’t speak English, so use Google Translate if you don’t know Turkish. Rooms are clean and the lobby is comfortable and refreshing. The internet is the one small problem, it’s weak or sometimes disappears. Don’t hesitate to stay.
