That rooftop terrace has a truly incredible 360-degree view, and the food is excellent and great value among Kalkan’s busy dining options. We had a lovely room with a sweet little balcony overlooking the sea. We stayed a few days and ate at the restaurant several times for breakfast and dinner. This family-run place was so lovely, and the kind, attentive service made our stay unforgettable. Emre and his lovely parents, thank you for everything. We hope to see you again on our next trip. I really recommend both the hotel and restaurant to anyone visiting Kalkan.

The terrace view was gorgeous, but the meal was awful. It took the waiter over ten minutes to get our order right. We ordered two steak filets, and I asked twice if mine was filet mignon. He responded with facial expressions that seemed to assure me it was. He didn’t ask how we wanted them cooked. That had never happened to me before, so I told him I wanted mine medium well. He didn’t understand the English, so I translated it into Turkish. He also struggled to understand what my daughters wanted. The steaks he brought were very hard to chew and definitely weren’t filet mignon. When I complained about mine, he took the dish away and didn’t return it or offer a replacement. My wife complained about the other half of her steak, and they took her plate, then brought back that half well done. When I asked for the bill, they charged me for my steak even though I hadn’t eaten it and it hadn’t been replaced. The manager insisted I pay after I challenged the price, and the cashier wasn’t friendly either. I didn’t want to make a scene in front of my family and spoil our vacation. All I can do now is urge people who see this review to avoid that horrid place.
