Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Cerkezkoy

Turkish Airlines was very delayed, which made the trip rough. Staying at this hotel turned things around, though. The people were very kind and hospitable, and helped make the experience smooth and comforting after the airline trouble. I loved the food they served for breakfast and lunch.

The distance from the airport was a shock, around 1.5-2 hrs by bus, and I'm disappointed Turkish Airlines chose somewhere so poor. The room smelled and looked as if it had never been cleaned, and the bathroom was dirty too. The AC didn't cool properly. I skipped breakfast because the hygiene throughout was so bad. It was a horrible experience.

We were only here in transit, and the travel arrangements made the stop exhausting: after our first flight, Turkish Airways took 2-3 hours to send us to the hotel, then the shuttle took over an hour each way to and from the airport. The hotel itself was cozy and nice, and the food was decent.

The place is old, though it's livable. Cleaning seemed to mean sprinkling water on the floor and wiping it, and that was it. Laundry was the worst: underwear and socks often went missing, sometimes it came back wet, and sometimes it smelled bad. Breakfast was just... Most of the staff weren't friendly, though each person was different. There was also sometimes a really bad smell from the bathroom in the room.
