I went to G8 restaurant for the first time with moderate expectations and came away pleasantly surprised. It’s in a nice spot, the food is high quality with good portion sizes, and the background music is nice.

I’m reviewing the restaurant only. It’s right by the sea, which is a great location. The food was tasty, but the portions were tiny. We paid £100 for two, more than I’d expect in London, and I was hungry again an hour later. Service started off well, then got much worse.

The view is lovely, and the mezes are wonderful. The staff were attentive and polite throughout. I’d recommend it.

They charge for the things they bring to the table as a treat. The raki is hugely overpriced: just for two people we paid almost 3000TL, without any main course or fish. That covered only 5 mezes and a potion of fried calamari. Nothing here stands out enough for that. There are literally hundreds of better options around, with more reasonable prices.

We tried the place once. Right when we came in, the waiters told us the prices were double those at other restaurants. We decided to stay for some appetizers and drinks anyway, despite the high cost. The food was average, and the only thing that really stood out was how expensive it was. I don't think I'll come back.
