We stayed with our family in July 2024 after finding the place through Fewo-Direkt. The house is in the small village of Üzümlü near Kalkan. The valley view is stunning, and it's so quiet and private that the only sound all day is crickets. Even the pool area feels completely secluded. The villa itself was even nicer than the description. It's in a sloped garden with grapevines, fig trees, and pomegranates. Every room was spacious, clean, nicely furnished, and well equipped. The terrace and pool were lovely too, with loungers, cushions, and bath towels provided. I brought detergent, toilet paper, and dishwasher tablets from Germany but didn't need them, since they were already there. The fridge was covered with magnets from grill and fast-food places that offer easy delivery. The village's steep hillside setting is also its biggest drawback. The roads can be unpaved, with very steep climbs and descents. I'm a confident driver and usually handle hills well, but these roads pushed my driving, nerves, and car to the limit. You can barely make some climbs in first or second gear, and if someone cuts you off halfway up, you might have to reverse dozens of meters or turn around and start again. No wonder most locals use mopeds. The drive from Antalya through Korkuteli and Elmalı gets more mountainous as you go, and my wife was at her wit's end. If coming from Antalya, the coastal route via Kemer and Finike is another option, though that isn't easy either. Flying to Dalaman Airport and driving via Fethiye only partly solves the difficulty once you're in the area. Our 90-horsepower rental car was pushed to its limits. Another tourist from Germany, an Almancı, even managed to set his car on fire in those extreme conditions. Maybe a proper 4x4 would handle it differently. We cut the trip short after three days and found another place because my family didn't feel comfortable with the location. That wasn't the accommodation's fault. I didn't expect a refund and didn't get one. I had misjudged just how extreme the conditions would be when booking from a distance, and really couldn't have assessed them any better.

After a snake showed up in the garden on our second day while I was playing with my child, we rushed inside. We'd been shocked by the location when we arrived too, since the house is isolated and only reached by narrow mountain roads. Before that, I'd asked the landlord whether snakes or rats might get in. He said pest control had been done and there was absolutely no risk. I called him after we saw the snake, but he didn't seem to care and sent his father to handle pest control. I said I was uneasy and didn't want to stay, and asked for half the payment back because our vacation was ruined. His father blamed us, and the landlord's son never came. I later called the rental company. The man who answered said he couldn't help, and that we could lock the door and sleep peacefully because the snake couldn't enter the house. I was shocked by that response. I told them I'd take them all to court. Then a very kind, polite woman from the agency called back. She said she had a young child too and understood us, that a snake was completely unacceptable, and that she would guarantee the refund. May God bless her. Without her, the holiday would have been ruined and we'd have lost all the money. Within an hour, we had loaded our suitcases into the car and sped away.

The pool is sheltered, and the higher altitude made August evenings pleasantly chilly. We had a lovely holiday and were very happy with our host. It's a little way from the center, but a car is needed for this kind of holiday anyway, so the distance didn't bother us. The parking space was so narrow that I couldn't turn around and ended up hitting a wall with my bumper.

A lovely location, and the villa had everything you'd have at home, from A to Z. It felt perfect for conservative families. The owner was warm, helpful, and attentive. You can book without hesitation.

Just right for a calm, peaceful getaway.
