Botanik Felizya Hotel

The location is excellent, around a 10-minute walk to beautiful beaches. The room was good, though the bathroom got very damp because there was no exhaust fan. Service was excellent, especially Maria (sorry for the bad spelling), who did everything she could to help. Breakfast isn’t a buffet, it’s more traditional Turkish food. If you’re lactose intolerant or avoid cheese and eggs, you’re probably better off getting breakfast elsewhere. There’s no lunch or dinner service.

Nothing about the stay was pleasant, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. When the bellman was taking my luggage to the room, he broke my bag. He didn’t apologize or show any sign of concern, and the manager acted the same way when I complained. There’s no elevator, and nobody helped with my things or even called a taxi when I checked out. They refused to clean the room, saying they only do it twice a week, even though it was my third day. They only took out the trash, and charged me when I asked for water. Before an early excursion, I asked for a breakfast box for my 7:30 a.m. departure, just before breakfast opened at 8, but they refused. Things in the room didn’t work properly: the shower was broken and a mess, the mattress was very old and hard like a wooden board, the curtains let in the sunrise while you showered, and the refrigerator was broken and smelly. The rooms weren’t insulated, so you could hear someone snoring next door very clearly. The staff were rude, especially the tall boss at the front desk, whose looks and attitude scared me. He wore optical glasses.

The room was pleasant and the AC wasn’t noisy. I also enjoyed the pool, which you can use in the evening, something not many hotels offer. Staff were very gentle. The only room issue was the curtain, which didn’t keep out the morning sunlight. Cleaning is twice a week. It’s good value for money, about a 10-minute walk from the beach. Ginza travel is nearby if you want to look into tours. Breakfast is okay by Turkish standards, though the coffee and biscuits could be better. Best regards to Mr. Levent at reception. Piergiorgio :)

The mattress was like a rock and very uncomfortable. In the bathroom, taking a shower leaves everything soaked. They only give you water on the first day, don’t clean the room until your fourth day, and don’t help with anything. The hospitality was zero, with rude, unsmiling people running the place. Read the low-star reviews carefully and believe them. Ignore the high ratings, they aren’t true.
