Flower Villa Apart

The one good thing about this place is the location, since it’s roughly in the middle and close to everything. The apartment itself felt very old and full of makeshift fixes. Doors and windows were noisy and difficult to open or shut, the rusty fridge had a wire coming straight out of the outlet, and the unstable chairs looked homemade, half metal and half wood. Cleaning was superficial. Our feet went black walking barefoot, so with a crawling baby we had to mop the playroom ourselves. The mop and bucket were filthy, there was thick dust on the windows, and behind the bathroom door it looked as if nobody had cleaned. A dead roach under the sink was still there after a cleaning during our stay. There are mosquitoes in Kemer, though it’s not like the Amazonian jungle. Without window nets, we got one or two bites a night, especially our little one. There’s only one air conditioner, in the living room at the opposite end from the two bedrooms, so cooling the whole place meant turning that room into an ice box and waiting for the cold to travel. Guests have to buy toilet paper, a sponge and dish detergent. Since we arrived at 9 PM, we insisted and got toilet paper for the first night. We also got the sponge and detergent after I explained the supermarket only sold sets of five and I didn’t want to take them home as souvenirs. The host can be very nice, but on other days rude and awkward, as someone else had mentioned in an earlier review.
