Konya Seref Otel

I’d spoken with them by phone before coming, and an employee sent pictures where you could see the bed and bathroom. I wasn’t expecting much, so I agreed. But the room turned out to be almost 3x3 meters, with the toilet and bathroom boxed into it behind PVC windows. It was cold, there was no air conditioning, and the water was only lukewarm. No hairdryer or clothes hangers either. Honestly, it felt like a tiny chicken coop, like the single rooms given to Afghans. I’m not exaggerating. We found another hotel for the same price, Lotus Hotel, and got a very clean, spacious room there. We decided not to book this one, and they took 200 TL off our bill. I told them to keep the 200 TL. I wouldn’t even go down that street if you ask me.

The outside of the hotel looks nice, but the room was damp and didn’t even have toilet paper. When I asked reception, they gave me tissues instead. There wasn’t a hairdryer either. I had to pay upfront, and I hope I’m spared the consequences of having stayed there. It was the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The people at the entrance were helpful and polite, I can’t deny that. The room was another story. I’ve never seen a bathroom like it, everything was moldy and black, even inside the toilet, and the smell was awful. Noise from next door carried straight into our room, even the smallest sounds. Maybe the price is cheap, but you’re still paying to stay here. Anyone with self-respect wouldn’t choose it.

The toilet was clean, but the room and linens were dirty in general. The nightstand by my bed was covered in stains, with moldy gum on it.
