Mevlana Palace

We booked two nights, but ended up leaving as soon as we could. We’d been out most of the day after checking in, and only realized how bad the place was when we came back to sleep. The floor was so dirty we couldn’t walk around barefoot, and both the toilet and shower water smelled awful, so we couldn’t shower. The walls were disgusting too. First thing in the morning, we called another hotel and checked out. I could never recommend this place.

The rooms felt like dungeons, and the elevator was carrying bags of dirty laundry several times. The food tasted expired, the wifi basically didn’t exist, and the bathrooms reeked of sewage. There were stains on the sheets and mildew in the shower. This is the worst-kept hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Even hostels are nicer than this hole in the wall. Don’t come here!

The receptionist was lovely and very helpful when we arrived really late, and they didn’t mind the late arrival at all. Our room was clean and comfortable, just right for the price. I’d happily stay again if I passed through. I’d been concerned by earlier reviews, but I needn’t have worried.

At Mevlana hotel, we gave the receptionist our details expecting the breakfast included in our booking. He said it was only TOMATOES, BREAD AND TEA, and offered to send us to their Mevlana Palace hotel at another location for a better breakfast if we paid extra. We agreed, since we didn’t want just that, and he took us there. The bathroom was extremely dirty and the room had a strong, unpleasant smell. We complained; the receptionist said the cleaners would handle it, but after a long outing the bathroom looked untouched. They swept the bedroom and left the bathroom filthy. I didn’t shower for either of the two nights because I couldn’t use such a dirty place. The breakfast we paid extra for was no good either. I just wanted to get out of there.
