Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Konya

I went for health care, and it was perfect. The people are professionals at their jobs. One serious issue, though: privacy needs attention, because someone can walk in freely while you're having a Turkish bath. That's really bad. Recommended otherwise.

Easy parking and warm service, and the breakfast was fantastic. This is a nice hotel. Thank you, Buse.

Buse went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, and the staff were really attentive. Our rooms were clean, and we had an amazing stay.

Mr. Ahmet Efe at the omelette/gözleme station was the real bright spot at breakfast. He was friendly, professional, and welcoming, made small talk, and did a fantastic job working on his own. Without him, breakfast would have been much worse. We appreciated the complimentary offers in the room and the lovely city view, too. The rest of the breakfast was a letdown. There was nobody checking room numbers at the entrance, and the dining area felt chaotic. Many staff seemed to be interns or students who were trying but lacked training, so service was uncoordinated. The buffet wasn't varied or high quality enough for a five-star hotel. Presentation was poor, with empty bowls waiting for refills; when food came out, staff rushed and seemed unfriendly in the open kitchen. Many items didn't seem fresh, their flavors masked by heavy sauces and spices. The charcuterie was low quality and already dried out. It didn't feel like Turkish hospitality. Parking was another problem. We could hardly find a space on arrival, and the hotel seems to give priority to weddings and conventions, leaving too few spots for hotel guests. The building also feels old-fashioned, with dark decor and no fresh, clean feeling in the hallways or rooms. Although we'd booked a non-smoking room, the air was heavily smoky, and by morning the bathroom smelled even more strongly of smoke, likely from neighboring rooms. The door sign looked carelessly prepared, and in the photos you'll see it has Loren Ipsum:) The garden was pleasant to walk in and had a nice view on a sunny day, but the corner bar was poorly maintained, with unclean dishes left out. Overall, the stay fell well below five-star standards, from parking to cleanliness and food. The hotel could offer much more than it currently does, which makes the experience a pity.
